An installer who floats a plank floor tight to the walls or substitutes a cheaper adhesive has voided your coverage before you notice. Ask in writing that the install follow the manufacturer's published instructions — that document is what a claim is judged against.
What the Waterproof Rating Actually Promises
"Waterproof" applies to the plank body, not automatically to the whole floor. A rigid-core plank will not swell when wet, but a wet-room install still depends on sealed joints and perimeter detailing so water cannot reach the substrate through the seams. Read the moisture or waterproof warranty for the exposure it actually covers — a label that says waterproof and a warranty that covers a full bath are two different claims, and the warranty is the one that governs.
